The Cherokee Nation is starting work on a casino expansion project in Oklahoma. The tribe is moving the Cherokee Casino in Tahlequah to the nearby Cherokee Springs Plaza. Plans call for a hotel, convention center and new clubhouse for the adjacent Cherokee Springs Golf Course. Cherokee Springs Plaza is a multi-use retail development in Tahlequah, the tribal capital. Since the first phase opened in 2016, several businesses have opened there, The Cherokee Phoenix reported. Groundbreaking for the casino takes place March 26, the paper reported. Cherokee Nation Opens New Tahlequah Casino The new Cherokee Casino in Tahlequah officially opened its doors at 10:00AM April 30, 2019. This casino is located in the Cherokee Springs Plaza on U.S. 62 south of Tahlequah, and replaces the original Tahlequah casino located 5 minutes southwest on U.S. Presentation of the Tahlequah Cherokee Casino. This casino is located at Tahlequah, Oklahoma. It is one of the biggest casinos you can find in and near the city. The gaming space features 400 electronic gaming machines spread over 20,000 sq ft. You can also order food in the restaurant the River City Cafe and White Wolf Steakhouse. Cherokee Casino Tahlequah and Cherokee Casino Ft. Gibson were the first properties to reopen on Monday, followed by Cherokee Casino Sallisaw on Tuesday. Oklahoma City Public Schools installing. Manhattan Construction Company have been honored by the Associated General Contractors of Oklahoma with a 2019 “Build Oklahoma” award for construction of Cherokee Casino Tahlequah. The Cherokee Nation will be opening a newer and larger casino in its capital city in Oklahoma. The tribe broke ground on the Cherokee Casino in Tahlequah on Monday. The 92,000-square-foot facility will feature 525 electronic games, a 144-seat restaurant, a cafe, a live music venue and a full-service bar.
